This De-icer is designed to float in the water tank and is thermostatically controlled with an automatic shut-off.
The Styrofoam float is completely enclosed within a rugged plastic housing.


The cord exits from the top of the unit. This gives the heater added stability and it is less likely to tip the tank.

This Guard may be used with  the Floating De-Icer and Sinking De-Icer, and is specifically designed to protect a plastic tanks and pond liners. The guard is made of galvanized wire, and is assembled without the use of welding. The end result is a much stronger Guard which is less effected by rust and corrosion.
